The first time I met Uncle George, in 2000, I was struck by his dignity and quiet efficiency.  May his fine qualities be long remembered.

Grandpa,

If I turn out to be half the man you were I will be satisfied.  You had an insatiable way of seeing the good in everybody and everything.  We will miss you so much.  But we will meet again.  Thank you for leading by example and teaching us to be great

My thoughts are with you as you deal with the loss of this wonderful man in your lives. I am so thankful that your children and grandchildren were able to know your father. I will always remember the good times we had as kids visiting you and Uncle George and Aunt Rose on Garfield Street. I will also always my Mom's stories of growing up on the farm with her oldest brother George. I met you only a few times but I know a few of your grandkids (of whom I'm very fond of).  I know you were part of a very special family who with some of which you will be reunited with and some of which will be missing you.  May your family on earth find peace and joy in their memories of you and may you rejoice and be joyful at your reunion above.

Dear Extended Family,

Even though I was never close to him, I am close to his grandkids. Shortly after hearing of his passing this is the message I sent to them: 

"Sorry to hear about grandpa. I didn't know him well, but I know he died a happy person knowing he could be proud of his grandchildren. You guys were always good to your grandparents. It's hard to find good people like you guys. " 

I can only hope to one day be as lucky to have such caring grandchildren like he had.

Sorry to hear about Uncle George.  I have fond memories of the family visits to the farm and our home in Leavenworth.  My smpanthies are with all his extended family.

I shall always remember Uncle George for his infectious smile and laughter and his caring for Aunt Rose and his family.  After nearly a century he is now in a better place with no pain and human frailty, only the wonderous warmth of God's eternal love.  I shall miss him and offer my family's heartfealt condolences for peace and relief from grief in the passing of George Didde, a good, holy and gentle man.  May he rest is peace with Jesus, Rose, Dennis, Lucy and the rest of his family.  From Beijing.

Grandpa, thanks for teaching me to shoot pool...and for letting me win.  You will always be a part of so many of us.

No more oxygen tanks, no more walker, no more sadness...just catching up with Grandma, Dennis & Lucy, your parents, & your family, holding sweet Ethan & Tilly, & meeting Jesus face to face. Sounds pretty wonderful to me. We'll still miss you oodles, dear Grandpa.

Grandpa, you figured out how to make each of us feel like the favorite. How'd you do that? I love you and will miss you every day.

What a kind, gentle person your Dad was.  Our world would be a better place if there were more people like him.

We are so very sorry to hear this news. Your dad was a wonderful man. I have many fond memories of both your parents going to your house when we were young.
