

George “Jerry” Gerard Reintjes, 93, of Kansas City, MO, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 9th, 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 8th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Rockhurst, St. Thomas More Catholic Church or Kansas City Hospice House.
Jerry was born September 20, 1918, in Kansas City, MO to George and Margaret (Mallott) Reintjes. He attended St. Francis Xavier, Rockhurst High School and Findley Engineering College. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945, and met the love of his life, Mary who also served. He retired from Geo P. Reintjes, as the Chairman of the Board. Jerry was a city councilman for Prairie Village, and a world traveler. Jerry played American Legion Baseball, enjoyed sports, and was a Notre Dame fan his whole life. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America, OFF Club, Knights of Columbus, St. Ann Circle 15, and More Friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Jack, Joe and Margaret. He is survived by his siblings, Robert, Betty McDonald, Marie Thorpe; children, Rita Blume, Michael Reintjes, Kate Reed, Maureen Reintjes, Terri Reintjes and Brian Reintjes; Poppo to fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and Jan.
