Gloria "Jean" Krump, 72, passed away at home on June 9, 2015. Having suffered from cancer in the last year, Jean left this life quickly and painlessly holding the hands of loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, James B. Krump, her daughter, Cindy Sue Krump and her brother, Winston Churchill Winders. Jean was a loving, kind, feisty and dedicated mother, grandmother and friend. She worked hard her entire life. She got her first job at the age of 11 and kept working well into her 60's. Jean began working at DST Systems in the early 70's when Richard Nixon was president, smoking was welcome in any office and cat eye glasses were the norm. When she left the company over 30 years later the country was electing its first black president and everyone walked around with a smart phone in their purse or pocket. Jean will be remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Scott Shaw, her grandchildren Kaitlyn and Rachel, her great grandson Charlie, as well as by scores of friends and loved ones. Memorial service will be Sunday June 14 from 4 to 6pm at the Shoal Creek Community Church in Pleasant Valley, Missouri. Fond memories and condolences may be left at www.mcgilleyantiochchapel.com as arrangements are under the direction of McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion, 816-453-7700.
