

Born on October 27, 1937, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Gloria was the beloved daughter of Russell and Martha Anderson. Gloria spent some of her earliest years with her cherished family in Chino, California, until she moved to Kansas, where she lived, worked, and raised her family for over 75 years of her life. She brought warmth and joy into the world from the very beginning. Her life was marked by kindness, humor, and a deep love for her family and the simple pleasures that made each day special.
Gloria was a devoted member of Church of the Harvest in Olathe, Kansas, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was a proud member of the 1955 graduating class at Shawnee Mission High School in Merriam, Kansas. Her generous spirit and unwavering compassion touched all who knew her.
She had a remarkable gift for making others feel at home. An excellent cook with a particular talent for baking cookies, Gloria’s kitchen was often filled with the comforting aroma of sweet treats and the sound of laughter. She cherished time spent playing Canasta and found great joy in sharing these moments with loved ones.
Gloria had an infectious sense of humor and a deep appreciation for stories—whether through movies or romance novels. She especially loved celebrating holidays, with Christmas holding a special place in her heart. Her home would come alive with festive decorations and heartfelt traditions that created lasting memories for those around her.
Her love extended to her beloved King Cavalier Spaniels, who were constant companions and brought her endless delight.
Gloria is survived by her three children: daughter, Cynthia Busse (Paul), son, Russell McCullough, and son, John McCullough. Additionally, she is survived by five cherished grandchildren: Meghan Denning (Jesse), Collin Keating, Kelsey Filer (John), Jacob Busse, and Alyssa Wesley-Rosa (Mekael), and her six precious great-grandchildren: Eleanor and Liam Denning, Rosie, Mae, and Lucy Filer, and Meira Wesley-Rosa. Her legacy lives on through them and through all who were fortunate enough to know her.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A service will be held on August 28, 2025, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
