

Harold Erskin Hawkins was born on December 8, 1946, in Kansas City, Kansas to the union of John W and Lydia M Hawkins. He was a lifetime resident in the Kansas City, MO area. He was educated in KCK and KC, MO school district.
Harold was united in marriage on February 16, 1968, to Juliette Hawkins, two children from that union, Nichelle Renee and Harold Hawkins, Jr. He worked numerous jobs; Pepsi, Youthcraft, American Can and American Fence. Harold was a very proficient interior and exterior painter, working with the family business, Hawk Property Restoration.
Harold was artistically inclined, he loved redesigning blue jeans, he was a very skilled string artist. His love and passion for Jazz was astounding; he was very knowledgeable with all genres of Jazz. ranging from traditional ensembles, cool jazz, hard bop, jazz fusion, and cotemporary sounds, even with dementia, Harold could provide detailed information about jazz artists.
Harold was preceded in death by both parents, sisters; Alta Hawkins and Judy Porter, brothers; Claude Hawkins (Butch), Frederick Hawkins (Fred), and Maurice Hawkins.
He leaves to mourn his passing, son; Harold Hawkins, Jr., daughter; Nichelle Cooper, sisters; Earlene Johnson, Anita Wilson and Sandra Williams, a host of grandchildren, relatives, and friends.
Harold loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed cookouts and family gatherings sharing family memories. Harold was much loved and will be missed by many.
