Harriet Louise Tindle

Harriet was born on January 28, 1938 in Kansas City, MO to her parents, Harold and Mary Hackel. She worked at Sparten Atlantic Stores beginning in the early 1960’s until the late 1970’s when she started working at Hawthorne Apartments, where she retired in 2003. After retiring, Harriet joined the Red Hat Group in Independence. She also volunteered many hours at the Palmer Center in Independence. She enjoyed the activities there with all her senior friends.

Harriet was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary; her grandmother, Josephine; sisters, Nancy (Elery) and Gretchen; brothers, Joe and “Bud”; her daughter, Marion; nephew, Vance; grandson, Brent; great-granddaughter, Addison; and life friend, Delbert Sinn.

She is survived by her daughters, Norma and Diana (Greg); grandchildren, Kristina (Dan), Sandy Rick (Laura), Melissa (Darrell), James, Brian and Jacob (Brandie); 23 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as close friends and neighbors.

A visitation will be held from 1-2 PM, with service at 2 PM, on Wednesday, June 5, at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Burial will occur immediately following in Floral Hills Cemetery.
