

She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters and five brothers.
Hazel accepted Christ at an early age, she was a long-time member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Earl Abel. Later, Hazel became a member of St. Peter A.M.E. Zion, under the leadership of Kenneth Pegue, now under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Lelar Williams.
She was educated in the Kansas City School District. She worked most of her life in the healthcare field and was a private care aide for over 20 years for Ralph Sokol, until his passing.
Hazel decided to pursue her life dream and return to school earning her degree in Mortuary Science. Hazel loved to travel and she loved her family.
Hazel leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters; Antigudra Davis-Hawkins of Pooler, Georgia and Tiffany Ward-McGill of Kansas City, Missouri, four grandsons; DeAndre Beasley, Sr., DeVonte Dace, Malik Butler and Keion McGill all of Kansas City, Missouri, one granddaughter, Nykeeisha Thompson (Marcus) of Pasadena, California, five great-grandchildren; DeAndre', Jr., De Aveonn, Messiah, Nova and Malachai, four brothers; Jimmy Lee Davis and Fred Davis of St. Louis, Missouri, Cleaster Davis of Kansas City, Missouri and Tim Davis of Arkansas, seven sisters, Verasteen Davis of Kansas City, Missouri, Johnetta Hinds of St. Louis, Missouri, Gestine Avery, Betty Ann Davis, Wanda Davis, Tanya Davis of Arkansas, Viola Davis of Louisiana, special nephew, Gregory Gibbs of Kansas City, Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, 64131, on November 21, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same location from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Burial to follow in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
