Helen Marie Reed, 96, Independence, Missouri, passed away February 4, 2016. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 10, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Helen was born November 12, 1919 in Stamps, Arkansas, daughter of Benjamin Reed and Martha Blake. She received Christ at an early age at Buchanan Baptist Church and loved the Lord. Helen received her nursing license in 1980 and worked for St. Luke’s Hospital for seven years.
She was preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings. Helen leaves to cherish her memory a brother Hank Reed of Colorado Springs, Colorado, sister-in-law Anita Reed, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, and special friends Carol Fisher of Independence, Missouri and Tonya Kelly of Blue Springs, Missouri.
