Helen Nadine (Lilly) Rogers, 99, passed away April 5, 2018 at the loving & caring Shawnee Gardens Healthcare Center in Shawnee, KS. She is together again with her husband of 65 years, Roy Allen Rogers (d. Oct 19, 1999).
Helen was born on February 26, 1919 and raised on the family farm in Jasper, MO, where, at a barn dance, she met the love of her life and future husband.
Helen had a wonderful sense of humor even near the end and a temperament, once in a while, that matched her red hair.
She loved having the kids and grandkids over on Sundays and Holidays where she would fix a meal fit for a king. Her pies were the best! In the summer there would be cookouts and homemade ice cream with an old crank ice cream maker that everybody had to take turns cranking.
One year Helen decided to go to work just through the Christmas season and retired from Sears 25 years later.
Every summer she would freeze and can fruits and vegetables from the garden for the coming winter.
After retirement Helen and Allen became snowbirds and wintered in Brownsville Texas.
Helen was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother, Aunt and Sister. She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
Helen is proceeded in death by Daughter, Linda Lou Rogers Enfield; Mother, Reva Mildred (Ingles) Lilly; Father, William Jewel Lilly; Brothers, Wayne and Max Lilly.
She is survived by Daughter, Bonnie D. (Rogers) Larimore and husband Jim of Kansas City, MO; Sister, Dorothy (Lilly) McKoy of Springfield, MO; Granddaughters, Amy Enfield of Shawnee, KS, Lori (Myers) Schneider and husband Sam of Lebonan, MO, Stacey (Myers) Mitchell and husband Jim of Kansas City, MO, and Christy Enfield; Great-grandchildren, Kelsey (Mitchell) Ross and husband Steven of Kansas City, MO, Jessica Mitchell of Kansas City, MO, Katie Schneider of Lebonan, MO, Ashley (McKinney) Meyer and husband Adam of Parkville, MO, Jason McKinney of Shawnee, KS, Desarae Enfield of Shawnee, KS; Curtis Freeman and Bekah of Kansas City, KS; Great-great grandchildren, Madison Meyer of Parkville, MO, Brendan Kemble of Shawnee, KS, Mylah Carter of Shawnee, KS, Ryann Fitzpatrick of Kansas City, MO, and Holden Freeman of Kansas City, KS; Nieces, Rita Hensel of Arizona, Sondra Morrison of Arizona, Rhonda Ontriveros of Springfield, MO, Lisa Blanchard and Debbie Quick.
