He was preceded in death by his wife of 19 years; Sheena (Salavitch) Collinsworth and also
preceded by his first wife of 15 years; Margaret (Schoepflin) Collinsworth. He is survived by his children John Collinsworth, Michael (Cindy) Collinsworth, and Ruth Ann (Raymond) Collinsworth (McDaniel); Paul Salavitch; David "Skeeter" (Trish) Salavitch and Vicki Salavitch. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren as well as numerous friends; service mates and colleagues.
He was a member of Coronation of our Lady in Grandview Missouri where he was an usher. He dutifully served 22 years in the United States Air Force. He served active duty tours overseas during WWII, the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a part of the Strategic Air Command and the 8th Tactical Fighter Wing. He retired from the Air Force with honors in 1969. In 2016 he was selected to participate in the "Hartland Honor Flight" recognizing his distinguished service during WWII in a ceremony and celebration in Washington DC.
After his retirement from the military he worked for the City of Kansas City, Missouri in the Police Department Service; and the Department of Public Works where he held the position of Superintendent of North Kansas City District. He retired from that position in 1991 after 22 years of service.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, camping, traveling and spending time with his friends and family. He enjoyed football (complaining about the Kansas City Chiefs) and was a 50 yard line season ticket holder for many years. If you asked him he would tell you he was a Raiders fan!
