Holly “Mimi” Warner Anquillare Moore, 68, of Kansas City, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2012 after a four-year battle with breast cancer. Holly died exactly the way she lived...on her own terms...surrounded by her three kids and her husband. Holly was born on January 10, 1944 to June (Deming) and Theodore Anquillare in Cheshire, Connecticut. After graduating from Cheshire High School, she enjoyed a short stint at the University of Minnesota before moving to Kansas City, where she married her husband of 50 years, Everett Moore. Holly and Everett raised three kids, Allen, Robin and Bryan, in the south Kansas City suburbs before moving to Pleasant Hill, Missouri. After their kids were grown, they returned to Kansas City. Holly started her career at Schooley Office Equipment and spent a few years in specialty furniture retail before joining Bernstein-Rein Advertising as an administrative assistant. She worked her way up through the ranks at B-R and Barkley & Evergreen before leaving to help start up a new agency called Marketing Resources/Weyforth Haas Marketing (now BKV), where she spent the rest of her career. She retired as Vice President, Director of Client Services. Holly spent her retirement shopping and going to movies with her granddaughters, water coloring painting, learning tai chi, going to the opera and enjoying time spent with some of her favorite people at Rodtiques, with whom she and Everett traveled around the country showing their beautifully restored 1960 Dodge Matador. Holly was known for her big smile and her incredibly generous spirit. She was mother, sister, mentor and friend to so many people. She was also known for her love of Elvis and her annual shrines to celebrate his birthday and his "disappearance." Holly is survived by her husband Everett, her son Allen and his wife Paige, her son Bryan and his wife Laura, her daughter Robin Knight and her husband Allan, granddaughters Lindsey, Emily, Courtney, Katie, Erin and Taylor, her brother Jon Anquillare of Cheshire and his wife Lorelei, her treasured cousins Lauren, Judy and Douglas, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved Golden Retrievers Sunshine and Cooper. Words can't express how heartbroken we are to lose her, but all those who love her so dearly find solace knowing that she's in heaven with Jesus. (We're also hoping that Jesus let Elvis throw her a little party to welcome her home.) Memorial Services will be held on Friday, August 17 at Leawood Presbyterian Church, 2715 West 83rd Street in Leawood, Kansas 66206. Visitation is from 11:00-1:00. Services will be at 1:00. A private burial will be at Mount Moriah Cemetery following the services. Holly loved flowers but she also loved her friends at Midwest Cancer Care at Research Medical Center. So if you’d like, you can make a donation in her memory to the Research Foundation, 2316 East Meyer Boulevard, Kansas City, Missouri 64132, where it will go into a scholarship fund for students studying to become oncology nurses. Condolences may be offered at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.
