Ila "Monzelle" Reed, age 95, of Raytown, MO passed away April 25, 2019. Monzelle was born in Brunswick, MO to Gladys Kuhn and Harold Sterne. She is preceded in death by her husband John W. Reed, her parents, and her brothers Eldon and Paul Sterne.
Monzelle was a sales associate at JC Penny for 38 years and could frequently be found within the walls of their stores after retirement. She had a heart for playing cards and reading.
Monzelle is survived by nieces and nephews: Pat Sterne, William Sterne (Chris), Kathryn Shepherd (John), John Sterne (Susan), Marcia Heiman (Rick), Ellen Steele (Jim), and Marilyn McKenzie (Joe), her beloved companion and friend Hank Houser, 16 great nieces and nephews, 14 great great nieces and nephews, and 3 great great great nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at Ivanhoe United Church of Christ. Visitation 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 1, followed by funeral at 11:00 AM. Contributions may be made to Ivanhoe United Church of Christ.
