

James T. Cassidy III, 76, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Saint Luke's Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. He was born in Albany, NY, attended high school in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Rockhurst College (University) in Kansas City, MO. Upon the Cassidy family relocating to Kansas City, MO in 1965, Jim met his next-door neighbor, Theresa Ismert, and they married in 1969. Jim and Theresa shared 55 years of marriage. They created a family that shared many memories and the love of music, comedy, games, movies, pets of all sorts, and genuinely enjoying each other’s company.
Jim and Theresa were amazing hosts and everyone from both sides of the family looked forward to Thanksgiving or any event where Theresa was cooking, and Jim was entertaining and advising. Jim enjoyed golf, telling jokes with his quick wit and hilarious timing, daily strolls, reading, listening to music, adoring the family pets, and most of all spending time with friends and family. He held various board member positions and donated his time to advise anyone who was in need. Jim’s career spanned from Band Manager, CFO, and Management Consultant.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James T. Cassidy II and Lucille Cassidy; brothers, Tom Cassidy and Chris Cassidy. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Cassidy; children, Dan Cassidy (Jennifer Cassidy) and Jessica Cassidy; sisters, Sue Cassidy (John Emanuel), Mary Pat Cassidy, Monica Cassidy-Carter (Mike Carter); brothers, John Cassidy (Diane Brooks) and Bob Cassidy (Laura Adams).
Visitation and Celebration of Life will both be held at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145 on Friday, January 17, 2025. Visitation from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM with the Celebration of Life Service beginning at 4:00 PM.
