Very sorry for your loss just found out today. I was making
an appointment for my son and the receptionist told of 
his passing. I have known him and been a patient of his since
day one until he retired.

Being a client of Dr. MCreary, I have fond memories of going to the dentist. I used to go to his office back in the 80s/90s before I was referred to the orthodontist. I remember him and his staff being kind, funny, supportive - gave money to me when I graduated high school and getting ready for college. I felt safe there and kind of looked forward to going to my dentist appointment thanks to him and his team. I know this entry is late but just finding out he is no longer with us. I would like to give my condolences to his family. Rest in heaven Dr. McCreary.

My acquaintance  with Dr. James McCreary is a very fond memory. In  the summer of 1965, I was 10 years old. My mother operated the Streets Hotel, Rose Room Restuarant and the Grey Lounge for owner Joseph Glass at 1510 E. 18th Street at 18th and Paseo. My siblings and I were regular participants in activities at the Gregg Community Center and the Paseo Swimming Pool what they were called at that time. Our community was a close knit. I didn't realize at the time what a village really entailed. The Gregg Community Center with director Clement Young, Instructor Lemons and Mrs. Taylor. The Paseo Pool swimming staff was Dr. McCreary known to all of us at that time as Jimmy , colleagues Glen and a beautiful woman referred to as sweet Sue. All these people in our community were GIANTS village mentors to a lot of us. Jimmy always gave me aspiring words of encouragement reassuring me to perfect my swimming techniques. He always had kind words of direction. It had such a profound effect on me that 12 years later I myself became a lifeguard as well on my summers off from college under Directors Olin Shurin and Steve Hanett who were also great mentors. It really was a different world back then but I will never forget these people. Later on in 1973 I met up with Dr. McCreary again as a dentist there at Model Cities dental office in the church at Linwood between Park and Wabash. Dr. McCreary pulled my 2 top wisdom teeth and he recognized me, " Tony ? " he hadn't seen me since I was 11. This probably doesn't mean a lot to other people but it did to me. I looked up to him as well as the others I mentioned. " What A Village "

Dr McCreary became my Dentist during the late 70s or early 80s! He was such an excellent Dentist who took great care of my Dental needs‼️

Dr McCreary was an exceptional human. He was my dentist for a long time. He always made me feel like family . He gave you a since that it wasn’t never as bad as you felt like it was. Even if you were anxious he made you feel better about what was gonna happen. I’m sure all who had him as a dentist where sad when he retired.
