It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James Alan Nuss, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, at the age of 87, on November 6, 2024 in Grain Valley, Missouri. His passing leaves a hole in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
James was born on September 12, 1937 in Hastings, Nebraska, to Cecil Wayne Nuss and Doris Evelyn Walls. He married Elizabeth Almeda Culp, on April 11, 1964, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. He was a devoted father to Jeffery, Michael, Jennifer, and Rebecca; a proud grandfather to Megan, Heaven-Leigh, Zachary, and Ethan; and an adoring great-grandfather to RiLee, Sumerian, Persephone, and Legend, always offering wisdom, guidance, and unconditional love. A devoted family man, James cherished every moment with his loving wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His legacy will live on through them and all who were fortunate enough to call him family.
James was known for his intelligence, sense of humor, and his dedication to family. He was a constant source of strength for his family and was always willing to offer a helping hand or a listening ear. Those who knew him often sought him out for his sage advice and his uncanny ability to have a solution to every problem. His passing leaves an indelible mark on the lives he touched. His strength, integrity, and resilience created a foundation that those closest to him will rely on as they learn to navigate their way through life without him to guide them.
A private family gathering will be held November 28, 2024 at his residence in Grain Valley, Missouri. The family invites those who knew James to honor his memory in their own meaningful way.
Though he is no longer with us in body; his spirit, his love, his wisdom, and the memories of the moments shared with him will remain forever in our hearts.
