

He was born on Wednesday December 4, 1968 in Denver Colorado, to his father and mother James and Patricia Riley.
James lived a short but full life, he surrounded himself with the love and laughs of friends and family. He loved the life of a trucker. He is survived by his father James Riley, son Bryan (Sammi) Riley, Daughter Kayla Thomas as well as seven grandchildren; Drake, Tristan, Braden, Brandon, Hudson, Hadlee, Annie.Two sisters Kitty (Dean) Dougherty and Sandy (John) Schwerer and lastly a brother Billy Link, As well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.
James was a hard worker and a determined man to always take care of his family. In his younger days he raced BMX bikes, collected cool cars as well as started his bowling career, his bowling continued on throughout his years to bowling with his father and children. He loved his lake property and all the friends and family that he met through it, While at the lake he enjoyed spending time on his boat,drinking his coor light "as long as the mountains are blue," and driving his razor. He had grand plans for his lake property including his large dirt pile for his granddaughter. Through all the life lessons he has taught his son, he has taught him how to have a strong work ethic and provide for his family. He also taught him how to be the best dad, man and husband all by watching him. In Bryans words " I could say a lot more about my best friend but it's hard to put in words. He will live on in each and every person who he met and called friends or family." In Kayla's words " His strength and determination is something that I strive for and will continue for my children. He was her ride or die, Her go to, and morning call."
James was a Major Denver Bronco fan with that being said we will end on some comfort words he wrote: "A truckers life is like a tumbleweed and while most of the world slumbers I start my day in fresh air with the moon and stars above for the road we travel is never the same there are subtle changes everyday most don't realize for they hurry through life they truly miss all the wonders."
