Janice Cockrill

Jan Cockrill, 82, of North Kansas City, Missouri, entered Glory on Sunday, October 13, 2013. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday, October 17, and the Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 18. Both visitation and service will be at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Chapel.

Jan is proceeded in death by 2 brothers, 3 sisters, her dear Christian mom, and the love of her life, her husband, Charlie. She is survived by her children, by marriage, Sharon Smith and son-in-law, Charles, and Howard Cockrill and daughter-in-law, Nancy. She enjoyed grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Also included in Jan’s family are her long time friends, Larry and Cathy Watson.

Jan enjoyed life to the fullest. Her time volunteering at the North Kansas City Hospital, Clay County Clothes Closet, and The Salvation Army, were very important to her. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of North Kansas City. She also loved and enjoyed the company of her good neighbors. But most important to her was her relationship with God. We rejoice today, knowing that Jan is in the presence of her Heavenly Father.
