Janice Kay Hohenberg

Born in Kansas City, MO, she was the daughter of Ralph & Lenora Sheets and graduated from Northeast High School in 1959.

She retired from GEHA where she worked as a claims adjuster and worked previously at Armco Steel. She enjoyed attending Bethel Baptist Church with her brother JR & sister-in-law Sandie and cherished the time spent with her family, friends and co-workers. She was also very passionate about Kansas City Chiefs football.

She will be remembered for her amazing strength as a Mother, Grandmother & Great-Grandmother along with her loving, giving, and sweet nature as a person.

She is survived by her brother & sister-in-law Ralph Jr & Sandie Sheets, 3 children & 3 step-children; daughter Sherry Alt, daughter Denise Alt, step-daughter Debbie Hohenberg Bass & spouse Paul, step-son & spouse Dean & Sherry Hohenberg, step-son & spouse Danny & Nichole Hohenberg, and son & daughter-in-law Michael & Sophia Hohenberg; 7 grandchildren, Josh Alt & fiancé Olivia James, Marcel Alt, Charlie Alt, Tré Alt, Ashley Depung, Briella Hohenberg, and Kainen Hohenberg; and 4 great grandchildren, Kynlee Depung, Charlotte Pulliam, Octavia James and Isaiah Alt.

She is preceded in death by her parents Ralph Sr & Lenora Sheets, brother & sister-in-law Jim & JoAnne Sheets, brother & sister-in-law Gary & Sandy Sheets, and significant other Ronald Wickham.

The memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 26th at 2pm and graveside service immediately after at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home & Cemetery located at 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO 64133. Visitation will be held from 1pm to the time of the service.
