Dearest Candy, I just learned of Jason's death. I am so sad for you. I sent you a Late Christmas letter and got it back...so I went on line. I tried Facebook, white pages to see if I could find an address. No luck so I thought I'd try to locate Jason and find you that way. That is when his obituary came up. I will keep you in my prayers. Candy, my deepest sympathies and thoughts are with you.  I have nothing but the best  memories when I think back to the times I shared with Jason - riding our bikes around the neighborhood until dark, playing basketball on Landmark ct. for hours on end, listening to music a few notches too loud, watching terrible movies until tears of laughter streamed down our faces.  And throughout those great times, I'll never forget how warm and welcoming you and Lionel were to me, and all of Jason's friends, always making us feel at home.  John and I were so shocked and saddened to hear from Brad about Jason's passing.  We have such fond memories of the two boys at Pioneer High School - so many laughs and pranks. I'll always look back at my high school years as some of the best times of my life, and you were a big part of so many of those memories. My son had had Mr. Crabtree for 2nd grade his first year of teaching. My son was so excited to go to school everyday knowing that he would be able to talk sports with him. They listened to sports radio every morning in the classroom. My son is very shy and Mr. Crabtree had him talking on the first day! He was very caring and offered to come watch my son play baseball. He was a inspiration to young boys and my son will miss him dearly. RIP!

I was Jason's mentor and from day 1 I knew he would fit in perfectly in our 2nd grade team and school. 
I will always miss your quirky jokes, pranks and laughter before school and during lunch. 
I will really miss hanging out with you during the summer at our second home, Jim Bob's Belly Up! What am I going to do without you there to keep "mark" away from me :)

I had the opportunity to teach art to Mr. Crabtree's classes for two years.  The students absolutely loved him.  I enjoyed teaching his classes, because they were always awesome!!  He was one of a kind, and will be missed by many.  My condolences to his family.

Jason was not just a friend, but a brother in the Navy. While deployed, he always kept positive, whether the good times or difficult times, bringing us to a smile with his sincere smile and laughter that I can remember vividly.

I am so,so sorry for your tragic loss.  Jason student taught in my classroom and I only have fond memories.

Children will forever miss you at Gracemor. Little childrens hearts are broken today as they return to school. prayers for them and your family dealing with the loss.

We are honored that we had the privilege to know Mr. Crabtree. He taught my daughter this year and she had nothing but the best things to say about him. Everyday she came home with a new story or joke he would tell them. Mr. Crabtree was the coolest. She made him bf bracelets cause he was the best teacher in the world. My daughter is in 2nd grade at Gracemor and she loves Mr. Crabtree. He worked the car rider line in the afternoons and was always friendly and kind when I talked to him. A male lower elementary teacher is hard to find these days and Mr. Crabtree was one of the best. All the students were blessed to know him. He will be terribly missed. My heart breaks for his family, friends and everyone involved. My heart is especially breaking tonight for Gracemor and his students who will return tomorrow with a new teacher. There will be such sadness and so many tears. Even all of the parents who only saw him in the car rider line will miss seeing him. Our family is praying for everyone involved and praying that his family and loved ones especially will feel the peace that only Jesus can give.

Mr. Crabtree was a pleasure to work with. The students in my class loved and looked up to him. We learned a great deal from Mr. Crabtree, I know his legacy will live on.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Crabtree.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

Jason was a dear friend with a kind heart.  He had a love for children and a giving spirit.  He was so willing to help others in their time of need.  My heart breaks for his family, especially his mother.  May God's love give you peace in your time of sorrow.

I was around jason all the time last year as my son was in his class and I helped him around the class every morning for a couple hours. He was an amazing teacher and friend. My son cried on the last day of school cause he was gonna miss his teacher so much. But when he came back this year he went and saw jason every morning. Rest in peace jason.
