

Jeanne Rhoades, a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother, passed away March 20 in Shawnee, Kansas. Born on December 31, 1936, in Greenfield, Missouri, Jeanne lived a life of service, faith, and deep love for her family.
She was married to the love of her life, Ned Rhoades, for 53 wonderful years until his passing. They were blessed with a son, Mark. Jeanne worked as a bank teller at Boatman’s Raytown Bank of America, where her warm and friendly nature made an impact on many. A woman of deep faith, she was a dedicated member of Abundant Life Baptist Church.
Jeanne had a servant’s heart, always caring for those around her—not only for her parents but also for friends in need. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, playing an active role in their lives and creating memories that will be forever cherished.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Novella Barton; her brothers, Bill and Elvin Barton; and her beloved granddaughter, Amber Rose. She is survived by her son, Mark (Brandi) Rhoades; her grandchildren, Josh (Nikita) and Cayla (and their mom, Lisa), Quentin, Dawson, Zach, Zoe; her great-grandchildren, Honesti, Matthew, Joshlyn, and Josh; two sister, Nancy (Mike) and Beverly (Duane); and her sister-in-law, Margaret.
Jeanne’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Jeanne's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the team at Faith Hospice and Shawnee PARC for their care of Jeanne over the past few years.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home with funeral service beginning at 2pm. Burial will be immediately following at Floral Hills Cemetery.
