

Jennifer Brandy Friedel was born to Laura Purdy Howard and Randy Howard on January 28, 1972 in Baxter Springs, KS and passed from this life on January 28, 2015. Jennifer graduated from Baxter Springs High School in 1990 and attended Pittsburg State University where she played softball and completed her general education. She married Kevin Friedel on December 20, 1992 and moved to San Jose, CA. She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Kurtis Chase was born on October 26, 1996 in San Jose. They relocated to Medford, OR in 1997 where she became a Farmers Insurance Agent and owned her own agency. She attend Rogue Community College and obtained her Associates of Science in Nursing degree in 2010. Jennifer moved to Overland Park, KS in 2012. Jennifer had a passion for helping dogs, especially donating to bulldogs with special needs and abused and neglected dogs, collecting Pandora beads and Anti-Fracking activism.
Survivors include her son Kurtis and best friend bulldog Meatball, of the home, mother, Laura of Leawood, KS, sister, Ashley (Kelly) and nieces, Krislyn and Jaxyn, nephew, Logan and bulldog niece, Roxie of Overland Park, and former husband, Kevin of Eugene, OR. She is also survived by her father, Randy of Springdale, AR and grandparents, Bob and Doris Sirratt of Baxter Springs, KS and cousin, Christopher Sharp of Baxter Springs along with many other loving cousins, aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Gene and Priscilla Purdy, aunt, Linda Sharp and uncles Harry Lee Purdy and Bobby Howard.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 7, at First United Methodist Church of Baxter Springs, with reception to follow service.
