Jim was born February 11, 1938 in Kansas City, Missouri to Melvin and Edith Holden (Hunnel). Jim had four sisters and two brothers. Jim was a member of Plumbers Local 8 as a plumber for 66 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family. Jim was a Deacon at Spring Valley Baptist Church as well as a 2nd Grade Sunday School Teacher. Jim walked his talk with the Lord.
Jim married Peggy S. Holden (Kuhn) on October 16, 1953. Together they had one son and one daughter.
Jim was survived by his wife of almost 68 years, son Jimmie L. Holden, Jr. (Becky) both of Belton, MO, one sister Judy Williams of Lee's Summit, MO, 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa A. Christiansen (Holden), son-in-law Martin Christiansen, 2 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, 3 sisters, 2 brothers, and his parents.
A visitation for Jimmie will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Spring Valley Baptist Church, 8801 East 79th Street, Raytown, MO 64138. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 AM at the church. A committal service will follow at 1:00 PM at Mt. Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
