Joan Ann Kissane

Joan Ann Kissane, 72, of Leawood, KS passed away February 5, 2013 at Kansas City Hospice House. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 11, at the Church of the Nativity, 3800 W. 119th St., Leawood, KS. Interment to follow. Visitation will be on Sunday, February 10, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at McGilley State Line Chapel.

Joan was born December 7, 1940 in New York City. She grew up in a loving, Irish Catholic home. She married John Kissane in 1964 and they were happily married for 46 years. They had three daughters. In 1978 the family moved to Leawood. Joan’s greatest achievements have been in the lives of her family. She had a kind heart, generous spirit and she always put others needs before her own. She leaves her daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren with the knowledge that they were truly loved, and with the peace of knowing that she loved The Lord.

Joan is preceded in death by her parents James and Rose Scollan; husband John; daughter Susan. She is survived by her brother Eugene and her sister Patricia; daughters Carolyn Yatsook and husband Eric, Nancy Lett and husband Adam; four beautiful grandchildren, Danielle and Erica Yatsook, Nicole and Brendan Lett, the joys of her life.
