JOANN WILSON HARMON JoAnn Wilson Harmon, age 83, of Raymore, MO, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday October 1, 2014. JoAnn was born on May 31, 1931 to Ross and Mable Wilson in Chesterfield, MO. One evening at a street carnival on 75th and Wornall she met Robert Harmon who was on furlough from the U.S. Marines. Shortly thereafter he asked JoAnn’s mother for permission to take her out for coca-cola. They were wed on September 15, 1950 and enjoyed 64 years of coca-colas. She is preceded by her mother and father, Ross and Mable Wilson, nine brothers and sisters and her eldest son, Bruce Harmon. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Robert Harmon, daughter Denise Hodges, married to Craig Hodges, son Brett Harmon, daughter-in-law Carol Harmon, nine grandchildren: Patty Taylor, David Stein, Dana Head, Paige Green, Melinda Ferguson, Ian Harmon, Jessica Harmon, Nick Harmon and Stephen Hodges, and seven great grandchildren. JoAnn was a woman with many definitions and titles: wife, mother, grandmother, friend and daughter of God. She was a woman of remarkable Christian faith whose love languages were of service and hospitality. Visitation will be Saturday, October 4, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. at the Hickman Mills Church of Christ 11610 S US Highway 71, Kansas City, MO.
