Joann Marie Munagle

Joann Marie Munagle (Stockard), 86, of Kansas City, MO, passed away on August 31, 2017. The only daughter of James W. and Berta T. Munagle, Joann was born on November 24, 1930 at Trinity Lutheran Hospital. She attended Our Lady of Good Council grade school and Bishop Lillis high school. As a freshman she met John Stockard and they married September 16, 1950. They raised 6 children in the Brookside area and she also called Westport and Waldo home. After running a successful blueprint business for many years she founded Hestia Properties LLC and became a fixture in the Waldo home rentals. She was also a customer favorite as a server at The Classic Cookie in Waldo. She passed on her love of all things Swedish to her children and grandchildren. She had traveled to Sweden many times as her mother had emigrated in 1911. She is survived by her 6 children, Stephanie Stockard Spelic (Stephen), Christopher Stockard (Kathy), Leslie Stockard, Matthew Stockard, Alisa Stockard and Phillip Stockard (Karen). She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and twin girls on the way. Memorial Mass to be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, Sept 11 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Visitation to be held on Monday, September 11 from 5:00-8:00 pm at Floral Hills, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd. A private burial will be held on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to one of her favorite charities: KC Pet Project, KC Spay and Neuter or Wayside Waifs.
