 Obituario de John Lee Cain
John Lee Cain of Blue Springs, MO passed away peacefully on May 4th, 2022 after a battle with cancer. John was born on January 3rd, 1947 to James and Irene Cain of Kansas City, MO. After high school, John enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War and in his four years of service, he was able to see much of the world. Upon returning from the Navy, John began work at American Auto Body as a painter and auto body repairman. John went on to work at Kenworth, Peterbilt and eventually was part owner of Tandem Truck Sales in Oak Grove, MO. He retired in 2017. John married Jenny Atkins Cain on September 20th, 1966 and they have 2 children, Michelle and Jimmy. John was instrumental in starting many youth sports programs in Blue Springs, and he spent a number of years coaching baseball, basketball and football. His success in these programs were the early building blocks of what would help propel Blue Springs into an athletic powerhouse. John enjoyed Sunday dinners, watching the Chiefs and Royals and the game of golf. John had many friends, but probably none greater than his golf group. Over the years, they enjoyed weekends on the course and golf trips together, which led to lots of stories. Most important to John was his family. Going on vacations and spending weekends poolside with his wife, kids and grandkids Carly, Cain and Joe is how John really enjoyed life. John was preceded in death by his parents James and Irene. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jenny of Blue Springs, his children Michelle (Ryan) Ridnour of Lee’s Summit and Jimmy (Amy) Cain of Lee’s Summit, grandchildren Carly Ridnour of Kansas City, MO and Cain Ridnour of Lee’s Summit, and Joe Cain of Lee’s Summit. He also leaves behind his sisters Judy, Joyce, Debbie, and Toni, as well as his brother Freddie. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father and Papa. He was proud of his service to his country and he was a great provider to his family. He gave to those in need, both in time and possessions. His sense of humor and his loyalty will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the Cain family requests donations be made to John's charity of choice: Veterans Community Project, 8900 Troost Avenue, Kansas City, Missouri 64131; https://www.veteranscommunityproject.org
