John L. Maynard

John was born January 14, 1921 in Sentinel, OK. He lived in Monroe, LA from 1964 until moving to Kansas City in 2008. In Monroe he was a Little League Baseball coach and member of the Lea Joiner United Methodist Church. John enjoyed bass fishing, playing bridge, and had a passion for flying and did so well into his 80’s. In 1954 he began working for General Adjustment Bureau Insurance Co where he retired. He was past president of the Monroe Insurance Adjustor’s Association. John was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Lillian (Hornecker) Maynard; brothers, Roy and Gene Maynard; sister, Ruth Colley; and a son, James Patrick Maynard.

Survivors include his wife, Margaret of the home; sons, John Michael Maynard, Albuquerque, NM, and Jeffrey Rogers Maynard and wife, Rebecca, Kansas City, MO; brother, Carl Maynard and wife, Linah, Nacogdoches, TX, and sister, Vivian O’Neal, Marble Falls, TX; grandchildren, John Patrick Maynard, Kevin Michael Maynard, Jody Lynn Tillman, Ross Alan Maynard, Angela Michelle Brewster, Holly Rebecca Maynard and Mallory Lynn Maynard; and several great grandchildren.
