John Ward Ownbey, age 86 of Gladstone, Missouri, passed away in his home on September 14, 2011. Visitation will be held Saturday, September 17 at 2pm followed by funeral services at 3pm at Mount Moriah Terrace Park Funeral Home.
John was born July 17, 1925 in Green Forest, Arkansas to John and Janie Ownbey. He served in the US Army from 1955-1958. He retired from the US Soil Conservation Service after 30 years.
John is survived by his wife of 55 years, Evelyn and daughters, Sonjya Ownbey and Arletta Ownbey, both of Gladstone. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Mildred Shaw and Grace Rose.
