John worked as an electrician and retired from Independent Electric of Kansas City, Missouri. He spent a few earlier years in Saudi Arabia as an electrician. He served in the United States Army. He was a 3rd Degree Mason, he was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Overland Park, Kansas.

John was preceded in death by his mother Eda Facklam, his father John Xavier Sifers, and wife Lesley Jo Sifers. He is survived by his brother Ron Facklam, his children Phillip Hacker and Susan of Rayville, Missouri, Shelly Clevenger and Robert of Independence, Missouri, Mark Sifers of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Nicole Mackey and Bentley of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Kimberly Kenney and Ryan of Columbia, Missouri, and stepson Roger Findlay and many grandchildren.

A Visitation for John will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2021 from 9:30am to 11:00am at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO followed by a funeral service at 11:00am. Burial will occur at Mount Moriah Cemetery South at 12:00pm.
