Tio, this is the time in life that you do not want to come. I will cherish our last conversation.  You always opened your heart to me and Anita.  You are special to many people with whom you touched with your kindness.  I remember all the kindness you shared with your plumbing knowledge; always there for anyone needing you.  I will miss your big grin and you shaking your head.  It kept me happy and others around us.  Your stories were some of sadness and hard times, but you still kept going forward. These words were part of my growing up, your question to everyone, " Have you been behaving?" was a reminder to all to do the right things in life and things will go your way.  Anita and I will miss you very much; we LOVE YOU Tio!  The family that has passed is greeting you now.  Tell them all we miss them too, and that we will Pray for all of them, and for those that are left behind with the sorrow of losing another 1st generation member of our family, our leaders who have been showing us the way. Oh, I forgot to ask, "Tio, have you been behaving?"

Daddy, u would b amazed by all the peoples lives u have touched. All the countless comments of how much respect everyone had for u! I'm so proud to b ur daughter, u showed and taught me so much! I miss u so much! I promise I'll take good care of mom! Watch over us I love u daddy.

What can I say about Tio Joe "Chiquito"? Also known to countless friends as "Little Joe".  Memories of him and about him fill volumes.  I also grew up on the West Side, as a son to his brother Ruben "Rube" Garcia.  I remember one day asking about the Pachuco cross tattooed or painted ( I honestly don't know) on his hand, all he said to me, "Chato, ask me when I have more rayos.  Tio Joe, cared, a man of respect.  Nothing came easy except for the love he felt for his devoted wife Albina Soliz.  I already miss you my dearest Tio.....Joe Frank "Chato" Rios de Garcia.
