Joseph was born on April 30, 1947 in Maple Heights, Ohio, to Anton and Nellie Lewicki. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio, and received his doctor of law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law at Cleveland State University. His legal career spanned more than five decades in both Ohio and Kansas, with 22 years as Litigation Counsel at YRC Worldwide Inc. before his retirement.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 54 years Barbara Ann; his children Moriah Lewis and husband Kenneth C. Wallace III of San Francisco, California and Joshua Lewis and wife Kristen of Leawood, Kansas; and his six grandchildren Christian, William, Evelyn, Holden, Quinn and Brooks. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia Ann Dimling and grandson Wyatt Carroll Lewis-Wallace.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO.
