He was born in Kansas City, MO to his parents Joseph H. and Jessie Reade.
He grew up in Raytown and graduated from Raytown High School in 1954, and graduated from Texas Christian University in 1961 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business.
He worked at General Motors Leeds plant before retiring in 1989.
He married Sharilyn Schreiber in 1966 and they had two daughters, Robyn and Pamela.
He spent his retired life doing the things he loved, traveling, golfing, gardening and doting on his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jack C. Reade.
He is survived by his wife Sharilyn of 58 years, his daughters Robyn Meyer ( Mark) and Pamela Watkins (Eric), 4 grandchildren Jared Meyer (Courtney), Jodi Werth (Blaine), Lesli Blosser (Chad) and Jessi Watkins and a great grandchild due in July.
