She was born the 4th child of the union between Augusta Rowlett and Giles Johnson on June 26th, 1927. She is preceded in death by her parents, adored husband and beloved brothers Bill, Ed and Francie.
June was united in marriage to Oliver S. Anderson in 1947. She is survived by her two children, James (Danielle) Anderson, and Jeanette Dennis; her grandchildren, Bob Anderson, Jenifer Anderson, Elizabeth (Matt) Justice and Holly (Aaron) Kaden; her great-granddaughters, Remy, McKinley, Evelyn and Dagny; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Due to the health and safety of family members during the COVID-19 pandemic, a graveside, open air service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, July 17th, 2020 at Mount Moriah Cemetery located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. June worked alongside her husband Oliver growing the family business, Anderson Survey Company, for almost half a century. June retired after decades of service and continued to hold stock past retirement. She was extremely proud of her esteemed husband, the respected business and its lasting legacy in the surveying field.
“GG” loved games of all kinds. She was an avid golfer, avid bowler, and Life Master bridge player. She could often be found doing crossword puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune or the Price is Right, playing dominoes or completing a puzzle. She was a member of several card groups that would revolve hosting duties and more often than not she would warn us, “Those snacks are for the ladies!” She enjoyed traveling cross country with her friends and playing cards all night on New Year’s Eve. She was a member of the Independence Young Matrons and the sisterhood of P.E.O. Later in life she found a new love in the penny slot machine that was often unrequited. GG was also a proud part of the entourage following great-granddaughter Remy across the country watching countless softball and basketball games.
June will always be remembered for her elegance, grace, sophistication, charming disposition and her need for “just a little taste of something sweet.” She was well loved and will be greatly missed.
