She is survived by her parents, Leo Phillip Dreyer and Mary Frances Foster and her brother David Cutler Dreyer along with extended family.
Known by those close to her as a kind and compassionate soul, Katie was gregarious and did not know a stranger.
Kate graduated from primary school at Cure of Ars in Leawood, Kansas, and high school at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park, Kansas. She received a B.S. in Journalism in 2003 from the University of Kansas, graduating with distinction. Kate successfully pursued employment in business-to-business sales in fields relating to professional training and industrial supplies.
In her youth, Kate was an avid reader, a Girl Scout, and enjoyed horseback riding. She loved time in the barns with the horses, and with her horse PC Novelty. She competed with PC Novelty, riding in the Western style, in locations from Kansas City to Illinois.
At the time of her death, Kate resided with her cat, Sati, at her residence in Aurora, Colorado.
Katie will always be remembered for her brilliance, her infectious enthusiasm, and her unwavering support for the people she loved. She will truly be missed and will forever live on in our hearts and minds.
A memorial service for Katie will take place on Sunday, July 27th, at 10:00am at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home located at 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
