

Kathryn Louise was born June 13, 1934 in Dawn, MO. Kathryn was one of ten children born to Mina (Evans) and James Harold Denham. She grew up on farms in the Dawn and Ludlow area. Kathryn attended Ludlow school through 11 grade and graduated from Dawn High School in 1952 as a member of the last graduating class of the Dawn High School.
With her typing skills learned in High School she went to Kansas City, MO and was hired by Simmons Gun Co. as a secretary. Later she worked for Kansas City Power and Light for nearly three decades, retiring in 1999.
Kathryn was married to Loring Edwin DuBois on April 3, 1965 at the Community Christian Church, having celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2015. Their devotion to each other was expressed during their years together with much travel, attendance of KC Chiefs games and square dancing.
Kathryn and Loring’s home hosted many “extended” family get togethers, especially at Christmas and Thanksgiving. Kathryn was the keeper of the family history and ancestry records after the death of her mother.
She is survived by her husband, Loring DuBois of Lee’s Summit, MO., three sisters; Phyllis Cooke of Overland Park, KS, Carolyn (Donald) Huff of Owatonna, MN, and Shirley Cook of Chillicothe, MO., brothers Bill (Ruby) of Marshfield, MO., Jim (Jean) Denham of Raytown, MO., John (Gail) Denham of Blue Springs, MO., Ken Denham of Trenton, MO., David (Bonnie) of Dawn, MO, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Ron.
A Memorial Service will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer, and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO 64131, on Saturday January 30, 2016. There will be a visitation at 12:00pm and service at 1:00pm officiated by Kathryn’s niece, Pastor Deb Miller.
