Kathy Baron

Kathleen Frances Baron, 80, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012, at home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 5th, 10:00 a.m., at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes, Kansas City, MO, with burial following in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 4th, at McGilley State Line Chapel, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Hospice, 9233 Ward Parkway, Suite 201, Kansas City, MO, 64114.

Kathy was born October 26, 1931, in Kansas City, MO. She was an elementary teacher. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, sewing group, and volunteering at St. Joe Hospital. She also enjoyed her outings with the Red Hatters, lunches with friends from St. Mary’s and being with her grandchildren. She loved to travel, taking day trips or extended trips to see new places.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Baron. She is survived by her children, Terri Greminger, husband Paul of Prescott, AZ, Tim Baron of Wichita, KS, Chris Baron, wife Kate of Portland, OR, Amy Surface, husband Andrew of Prairie Village, KS; seven grandchildren, Sean (Erica) Greminger, Anush Alexander, Layla Azimi, Abby Baron, Ryan Surface, Hilary Surface, Drew Surface; two great-grandchildren, Will Alexander, Mya Greminger; sisters, Mary Ann Altman of Kansas City, MO, Aileen Richmond, husband John of Albany, MO; brother, Jim Altman of Seattle, WA.
