Kenneth Eugene Johnson

Kenneth Eugene Johnson, 50, of Independence, MO passed away December 18, 2014. Visitation will be from 6-8pm Mon., Dec. 22, 2014 at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church (10010 E. 40 HWY, Indep.) with rosary at 5:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial 10am Tues. at the church with burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Kenny was born October 29, 1964 in Woodriver, IL to Ronald & Georgianna Johnson. He graduated from Northeast High School in 1983 and attended MU & UMKC. Kenny was employed for 23 years at Direct Messenger Service. He owned his own business and was a successful salesman. His life revolved around his wife and 4 boys. He was a member of Nativity Parish. Kenny coached baseball for the American Legion & St. Mary’s High School & was a Baseball Scout for the TX Rangers. He was an avid sports fan & ‘Trivia Master’. Kenny was a loyal fan of the MU Tigers, KC Royals & Oakland Raiders. He was a dear friend to many.

Kenny was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Frank & Glenna Johnson; his maternal grandparents, George & Mary Belle Wade; a brother, Ron Johnson & a niece, Mary Anna Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Georgianna Jones; his wife of 23 years, Rosie; sons, Wade Michael, Brock Matthew, Cale Joseph & Luke Henry; a sister, Rhonda Lee; sister-in-law, Melinda Johnson; numerous nieces & nephews and a very large extended family.
