Kenneth F. Johnson, 81, of Independence, MO passed away Dec. 22, 2015. Visitation 2-4pm Sun., Dec. 27th at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with Rosary recited at 3pm. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30am on Mon., Dec. 28, 2015 at Nativity of Mary Church, 10010 E. 40 HWY Indep., MO with burial at 1pm in Higginsville Veteran Cemetery.
Ken was born July 30, 1934 in Moberly, MO to Francis & Emma Johnson. He is a US Army Veteran, a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus and a longtime member of Nativity of Mary Parish. Ken worked for Ryerson Steel Co. for 25 years as a Steel Hauler. Ken lived in Independence, KS for 12 years, Joplin, MO for 4 years and settled in Independence, MO in 1989.
Ken is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jimmy, Johnny, Larry & Jerry Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy of the home; sons, Gary W. Johnson (Mary P.) of KCMO & Patrick A. Johnson (Kristan A. Bina) of Austin, TX; two grandchildren, Polly of KCMO & Seth of Austin, TX; brother, Dale Johnson (Karen) of Glasgow, MO & a sister, Judy Morris (Maury) of Edmund, OK.
