Ken was born on November 10, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri. Ken lived his full and happy life in the state of Kansas. Ken graduated from Bishop Miege High School in 1959 and then received his Bachelors degree from Rockhurst University in 1963. Ken is a veteran of the United States Army and was a Staff Sergeant.
Ken worked for Mobil Oil Corporation for 30 years as a customer service representative. Ken was a member of the ACGA (American Cut Glass Association). He had a passion for American Cut Glass that compared to none. He loved the history and the beauty of each piece, and he loved to share his passion for cut glass with others. He also loved to bowl, cars old and new, boxing, and traveling with his family. Ken believed in Jesus Christ, and towards the end of his life, he enjoyed reading his Bible and talking with his family and close friends about God's grace. Ken never met a stranger, and he loved to talk to and meet new people. His family used to tell him that he graduated at the top of the class at the Will Rogers School of life.
Ken was preceded in death by his father Charles, mother Naomi and sister Virginia. Ken is survived by his wife, Jackie, Son Scott and daughter-in-law Jennifer, daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law Ken, as well as his brother James and sister-in-law Esther.
Ken is missed by his family who loved him fiercely. We will miss the gentle and quiet way that he lived his life, his unwavering love for his family, and the love he had for his wife. For 59 years Ken and Jackie loved, laughed, and endured hardships, but always did this together. Their love story will forever live on in their children, family, and friends.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff and volunteers of Kansas City Hospice for the amazing care they provided Ken. Their compassion and heart centered care was a true gift of love to Ken's family. We would also like to thank the American Cut Glass Association for introducing Ken to cut glass. This brought out his true passion in life (other than his wife).
The family asks that any donations in honor of Ken can be made to The American Cut Glass Association or Kansas City Hospice.
