Kevin was born January 27th, 1958 in Independence, Missouri. Kevin grew up in the Hickman Mills School District graduating from Ruskin High School class of 76. Kevin was proud to have been certified as an Eagle Scout in 1973.
Kevin entered the workforce as a rough-in carpenter and spent 40 years in the construction industry. "No house was complete" he'd say unless every wall was plumb. Kevin designed and built his own home and was proud to live there and happily maintain it, always working on a new project.
Kevin was an outdoorsman. He took great pleasure in participating in the annual Albuquerque Balloon Festival. He always looked forward to meeting up with the people of the balloon crew. Kevin enjoyed preparing his travel trailer and journeying to the American Southwest to "freshen his soul". It was a landscape that drew him back time after time. After retirement, Kevin travelled 3 or 4 times a year to the mountains and deserts of the West.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry D. and Anna L. (Bryeans) Summers. He is survived by his sister, Karen McCance (Malcolm), nephews Dylan McNeely and Brydan Summers (Rebecca), great nephews Uri and Rylan, Uncle Dwayne Summers and Aunt Patricia Hutchins.
Kevin was a patriot that loved his country. He didn't mind spending time alone and enjoyed his independence, but loved catching up with long-time friends when he could. His blue eyes and contagious laughter will be missed by family and friends.
