Few who knew Kim will ever be without her. She made you believe you were infinitely more interesting and more fun than you ever actually were. And that you were much smarter and wittier than you could ever hope to be. Being with Kim was like basking in the warm sun --- and it’s a memory I will hold fast.  My deepest sympathy is with Katie, Holly, and the entire family, whom Kim considered her greatest pride and joy. 

My heart was so heavy with this news. Kim was indeed a bright light and a sweet person. I worked with her almost 10 years and each year was a pure joy to get to know her a little better.

My favorite memory of Kim was in the parking lot. I was walking toward the building door to go into work. Kim drove up in her cute new car with her music blaring singing Maroon 5’s song.  With her windows down and a great big smile on her face she was looking right at me singing “Sugar, Yes please...” we both shared a laugh.  

Kim was an amazing coworker and an amazing person. 

Heaven has gotten just a little bit sweeter because she is there and I know I will see her again.

Kim was my friend, colleague and mentor at GS.  She was the consummate optimist and cheerleader for all of us. While she always wore a bright and sunny disposition, what many people didn't see, was that Kim was also one tough cookie.  Her resilience to overcome hardships and to be an outstanding mother to her beautiful daughters was what always inspired me. She and Kathy Wood had no idea that they were planting many seeds for me regarding how to be a strong, devoted and loving mom.  I miss them both but am comforted by the idea that they're back together again in heaven, being the lives of the party! My special prayers are with Katie and Holly, whom I know, were Kim's world. Rest is peace, sweet and gentle, Kim. 

I was a Scout Leader for 9 years. Kim Horn was one of the reasons I stayed on. She was such a good friend and inspiration.  My friend and co leader and I wouldn’t have made it through all those years without her help. She will be forever missed. 

I have only worked for Girl Scouts for a year and a half but that was plenty of time to know what a sweet and generous person Kim was.   She sat with me in Ottawa for a home improvement event when we both had just gotten the area.  She did it to keep me company.  I feel lucky to have known her.  She is definitely a person  worth celebrating!

Kim helped me as a Girl Scout leader for several years. It was such an opportunity to work with her in this organization. She is truly inspirational! Prayers for her family. 

Kim Horn was there when my oldest daughter started scouts in 1988 and the reason I embraced working with her troop-later her sisters’ troops and and the service unit for 20 years.  Day camp, cookies, recruitment- Kim supported so many troop leaders and girls through it all.  She  was a rock star!

I worked with Kim just short of 7 years. I often sat at her table during staff meetings and we shared a cubicle wall before COVID. I want to say my favorite thing about Kim was her wonderful laugh and smile. But let's be real. My favorite thing was her quest for knowledge! We often joked that the meeting really wasn't over until had asked her questions or that she understood. I loved this. Kim always asked the questions that other people had but we're afraid to ask. She wasn't ashamed of this. She was going to do what she needed to do to figure it out. ❤️ She helped us all by doing that! 
Kim loved her family. She spoke of them fondly all the time. When I had my twins, she loved to think of memories and tell me stories if her twin grandkids.

This is so hard. I worked with Kim (Kimmie, my nickname for her) for 35 years. We shared lots of gut busting laughter working and traveling together and even when we roomed together. I will miss her so much. She and Kathy Wood were like Lucy and Ethel always doing something that would make you crack up laughing. I truly want to thank you so much for sharing your mom, she was a blessing to me. Our last conversation was her retiring and us getting together after this covid thing. Yes, God has a new Angel with a big beautiful smile and a true Girl Scout our founder would be proud of. Rest in heavenly peace my Kimmie. Much love to you.

I am so sad to hear about Kim’s passing. She was such a positive, helpful person to me regarding leading Girl Scouts. Her 35 year career in Girl Scouts was admirable. I enjoyed catching up with her periodically throughout the year.  She always talked fondly of her grandchildren. My thoughts are with her family. 

I was  a colleague and friend of Kim at the GS council office in the 80s. Kim and Kathy (or Kim'n'Kathy as they were often called) were hired onto the council staff not too long after I was. Kim was one of the most upbeat person I have ever known.  She was funny and fun to be with. When I left the council for another job and I stopped to visit Kim, we just picked up where we left off the last time we had been together.  She would show me pictures of your family and speak with great love of each of you.  And know that she was loved by many.

So thankful to have known Kim through Girl Scouts, and grateful for all the help she gave me and my troops over many years.  She was a fierce advocate for girls and their experiences.  I loved hanging out with Kim at our day camps and walking around with her, visiting with the girls.  I will look for some photos to share.  My thoughts are with you all - I know Kim loved her family so, so much.  We will all miss her.

I had the pleasure of working with Kim through Girl Scouts. I was a leader and Day Camp staff and she was always so helpful to me. I always enjoyed catching up with her when she’d come to camp or I saw her at an event.  Such a lovely person - she will be missed.
