Kristina Lynn Rains Fiola, 49, was reunited with her mom in Heaven on June 8, 2022. She passed away peacefully at The Hospice House in Kansas City, MO after a brief but fierce battle with cancer. Kristie was born October 3, 1972 in Kansas City, MO to James and Barbara Rains. Kristie grew up in the Kansas City area and graduated from Blue Valley High School in 1991. Kristie was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs, a New York Yankees and a Rob Thomas fan. Kristie loved listening to music, loving on animals and attending Matchbox 20 concerts, but family was always her main priority, however Rob Thomas was a close second.
Kristie leaves behind her father James Rains, her soulmate and beloved husband, Jason Fiola and their two puppies, Thomas and Charlie; her brother, Rick Kline, and his children, Natalie, Jacob and Megan and his two grandchildren and one great-grandchild, her oldest sister, Kim Vanalst and her husband Jerry, and their children, Jennifer, Josh, Cody and Austin and their 11 grandchildren; her youngest sister, Jamie Lovingood and her husband Michael, and their children, Landon, Mason and Kellen; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
Kristie's contagious laugh, quick wit sense of humor and selflessness were just a few of the many reasons she was adored by so many and will be so intensely missed. If Kristie's ability to trip over her own feet, run into a wall, or sense of humor did not make you smile, her infectious laughter would get you. It was impossible to not laugh when in her presence. Her welcoming demeanor, bright smile and caring personality made others gravitate to her, but Kristie's loyalty, sincerity, and love she gave to others made them want to stay in her life. Kristie's infectious smile, loyalty and fierce love for her family and friends will be truly missed.
