Larry Alan Brown, 84, passed away January 23, 2026, at his home in Raymore, Missouri. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, Larry was a graduate of Washington High School. Larry began his career in the grocery business as a teenager. Later, he worked as a respected member of the management team at Balls Food Stores for four decades.
Larry is survived by his first wife Jerry Johnson and their children Kris and Kirk; two children with his second wife Shirley Schmutzler, Jeffery and Leasa; eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandkids; his sisters Denise Brame and Dianna Wojtanik, brother-in-law Leonard Henre and their families.
He is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Brown, her mother Tharon Gray and her sisters Peggy and Wanda; parents Ruth and Raymond Rippley; father Alan Brown; beloved sister Carole Henre and dear niece Jessica Wojtanik.
Larry loved his family and was thankful for their company and their assistance. He spoke of being reunited with Nancy and expressed his readiness to join her.
A memorial service for Larry Brown will be held at 2 PM on February 21, at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Boy Scouts of America, Heart of America Council.
