Lenora Jane Caby

Lenora “Jane” Caby of Kansas City, MO, age 83, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 8, 2026. She lived a life of unwavering faith and a deep love for her family.

She was born on August 26, 1942, in Essex, MO, to Orville and Marie Coffey. She was a proud resident of Parma, MO, until she attended Southeast Missouri State, where she met the love of her life, Charles Leroy Caby. Charlie and Jane later married on March 28, 1961, in Parma, MO. Jane and Charlie lived in St. Louis, MO, until 1975, when they moved to Kansas City, MO. They would have been married 65 years this March.

Jane was able to pursue her heart for service and special care for others in many ways. Whether she worked at local elementary schools or cared for her grandchildren, Jane always provided those around her with love and laughter. She was a devoted Christian and often led ministries and children’s groups at her church.

Jane is survived by her husband, Charlie, and three children: her son, Charlie (Terri) Caby, and daughters, Jane Caby and Julie Strickland. She had 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, with another one on the way, along with extended family and dear friends.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, James Orville and Opal Marie (Worley) Coffey; her brother, Bob Coffey; and her son-in-law, Ryan Strickland.

Visitaton service for Jane will be held at Newcomer’s Floral Hills Funeral Home in Raytown, MO, on February 20, 2026, from 9-10 AM. The funeral service will begin at 10 AM with an internment immediately following.
