Lester Dale Fredendall, 90, of Independence, MO died peacefully on Thursday, August 21, 2014. Visitation will be Wed., August 27, 2014 from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the McGilley & Sheil Chapel with The Fraternal Order of Eagles memorial service at 7:30pm. USMC military honors following the service. Cremation.
He was born March 21, 1924 in Cordova, IL to Douglas & Edna Fredendall. Lester joined the United States Marine Corp in 1943 and served in the South Pacific during WWII. He was a self-employed Tool and Die Maker for 25 years in Blue Springs with Beryl Leuty at LuDall Tool and Die Company. Lester lived a full life and was active in The Fraternal Order of Eagles 385, The American Legion Post 21 and VFW 1000 of Independence. He has lived in Independence since 1964.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters & two brothers. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Eldine; daughter, Carol Babbitt (Dean); grandsons, Dean R. Babbitt & Jason A. Babbitt of Glendale, AZ; two brothers, Bob (Jane) of Washington, MO & Cecil of Derby, KS and numerous nieces & nephews.
