Linda Joyce Lopez

Linda J. Lopez, 50, of Kansas City, MO was called to our Lord, Jesus Christ, on Aug 20, 2005. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thurs, Aug 25, 2005 at Redemptorist Catholic Church followed by burial in St Mary’s cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W. Linwood, KC MO where the Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Contributions are suggested to St Luke’s Hospice.

Linda was born on Oct 27, 1954 to Ray and Antonia (Estrada) Lopez. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Sacred Heart and a member of the Guadalupanas. Before becoming ill, she worked for the School of Nursing department at KU Hospital. She also held many various positions at Penn Valley Community College for an extensive number of years. She was a very career-minded person. Linda’s parents and a beloved brother, Jesse Lopez, preceded her in death. She leaves a sister, Maria Basurto (Albert); brothers, Raymond and Alcadio (Renea) Lopez; nephews, Phillip, Terry and Tony Basurto and Andrew Lopez; nieces, Amy and Melissa Basurto, Susan Kirvena, Andrea Lopez, Cerise Totton (Phillip); great-nephews, Gabriel Totton, Peter, Justin and Nicholas Kirvena; great-nieces, Maria Totton and Kaylee Kirvena as well as special family and friends, Lisa Mejia, Tina Medina and Rita Thomas. A special thanks is extended to St. Luke’s Renal Care and St Luke’s Hospital medical staff.
