

Linda S. Monahan passed away Sunday, August 28, 2011 at Kansas City Hospice House after a long battle with cancer. Linda was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 20, 1953 to Stephany Brame James and C.J. Monahan. She was a loyal friend, a beloved daughter and sister. Linda was a 1971 graduate of O’Hara High School. She has worked at Hallmark Cards for 38 years. Linda was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and has enjoyed season tickets for years. She was fond of gardening and worked at a local nursery during the spring and summer for fun. She had a passion for animals of all kinds and has raised or found homes for many rescue pets.
A private memorial service, conducted by Pastor Clint Coffey, will be held at McGilley- Sheil in Kansas City, Missouri on Thursday, Sept.1, 2011. Immediately following will be a private graveside service at Mt. Olivet in Kansas City, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Bob Jeffery, Michael Moore, Clayton Moore, Austin Windsor, Logan Windsor and Rex Dixon. Honorary Pallbearers will be her sisters and Shirley Early. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Linda S. Monahan Memorial in care of her sister, Suzie Moore. Donations will go to the Hallmark Aquarium or the Penguin House at the Kansas City Zoo.
Linda was preceded in death by her father, C.J. Monahan. She is survived by her mother, Stephany Brame James of Odessa, Missouri. Linda also leaves behind four sisters, Terry James-Stuckey and Mike Stuckey of Lone Jack, Kim and Bob Jeffery, Suzie Moore, and Doni and Scott Windsor all of Odessa, Missouri.
