

Lois Hill Marston, 95, passed away March 23, 2014 in Columbia, Missouri. Born in Kansas City, Missouri on July 15, 1918, Mrs. Marston was the daughter of Charles Lawrence Hill and Jesse Gardner Hill. She graduated from Central High School in 1935. She married Ralph Marston in 1938. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary shortly before his death in 1988.
They were owners of J.W. Cooper Mercantile Company until they retired in 1974. Mrs. Marston was a Jackson County Election Judge. For many years, she was a shepherd at Linwood United Church, Kansas City, as well as a member of the Linwood United Women and the Linwooders Sunday School Class.
Mrs. Marston is survived by her sons Brad Marston of Columbus, Ohio and John Marston of Columbia, Missouri; grandchildren Rosemary Marston, Los Angeles, California, Rebecca Marston, Santa Cruz, California, and Daniel Marston, Santa Cruz, California; and great-grandchild Isaiah Wucher. She was preceded in death by her brother Layton Hill; her sister Marilee Hill Ward; and a grandchild Meadow Marston.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 28, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Linwood United Church, 3151 Olive Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64109, will be welcomed.
