A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Harry Foockle of Antioch Community Church officiating at the McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64119. Inurnment will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Kearney, MO.
Lola was born in Warsaw, MO to Earnest and Letha (Luke) Land on October 26, 1935. She married James A. McCloud on October 14, 1953 in Redlands, CA. They spent 46 years together until his passing on August 31, 2000. She worked for the North Kansas City School District for 20 years in the cafeteria.
Some of Lola’s favorite pastimes included reading and dancing. After her husband passed, Lola and her sister traveled the world together, going to places such as Hawaii, Alaska, Italy, and all over the United States.
Lola is preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband.
She leaves behind her sons, Dale McCloud of Kansas City, MO and James McCloud of Blue Springs, MO; daughters, Cheryl Holman of Richmond, MO and Debby Heiman of Kansas City, MO; sister, Carroll Ferro of Auburn, CA; 8 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family to cherish her memory.
Memorial donations in Lola’s memory may be given to
Cancer Society, Disabled Veterans, Crossroads Hospice and Ignite Medical Resort.
