Lova Ruth Owens

Lova Owens, 86, Kansas City, passed away Nov. 12, 2017. Visitation is Sunday, Nov. 19, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City. Funeral service is Monday Nov. 20 at 1:00 PM, also at McGilley Antioch Chapel, with burial to follow at East Slope Cemetery.

Lova was born Nov. 29, 1930 in Jefferson City, MO to Forrest and Orpha Stewart. She is preceded in death by her parents; Charles Frost; the love of her life, Robert E Owens, who passed Nov. 6, 2017; brother Robert “Bobbie” Stewart; sons-in-law Michael Hicks and Charles Westfall.

Survivors include her children: Sharon (Frost) Goligoski of Liberty, Karen (Frost) Westfall McGowen, and husband Jim, of Liberty, Bobbie (Frost) Hicks of Nashua, Danny Owens of Kansas City North and Robert E “Buddie” Owens, and wife Shirley, of Topeka; ten grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. Additional survivors include brother Forrest Stewart of Camden Point, sisters Linda Salsbury of Springfield, and Bonnie Parsley of Kansas City; sister-in-law Virginia Stewart of Kansas City, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In honor of Lova, the family suggests contributions to Northcare Hospice Team, 2000 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO 64118. Arrangements under the direction of McGilley Antioch Chapel.
